As part of a 12-hour course, the Monithon team supported Professors Carmela Barbera and Mariafrancesca Sicilia to involve students in practical activities of analysis of public policies and participatory processes of co-production of projects and public services, carrying out monitoring activities number of some projects financed in Bergamo .

Among the objectives of the course, we mention:

• Deepen the theme of civic participation in the monitoring and evaluation of public services and infrastructures
• Provide students with basic methods and tools to carry out civic monitoring.
• Learn to interact with a public administration to discuss its work and the results achieved through its activity.

The students monitored 5 projects financed by European funds and the Recovery and Resilience Plan, on urban redevelopment, renovation of school infrastructure, training and work. In the spring of 2022 they gave rise to the first civic monitoring of a PNRR project , paving the way for subsequent actions and giving us the opportunity to strengthen our methods in the presence of projects in their initial state of progress.

The monitoring results were discussed in a national conference with representatives of the European Commission, the Ministries involved, the Municipality of Bergamo and civil society.

In 2023, a further 3 projects financed by the RRF were added to the monitoring. The course returned to monitoring 2 of the previously analyzed projects, adding a third on the computerization of the Municipality of Azzano.
