“Innovative Implementation of the Partnership Principle in Cohesion Policy” is an initiative of the European Commission – DG REGIO and the OECD, aimed at improving the outcomes of EU policies by involving citizens and local partners through innovative forms of civic participation.
The Lazio Region is participating in one of the current 8 European pilots to promote civic engagement in the implementation phase of the Territorial Strategies of the municipalities of Latina, Frosinone, Rieti, and Viterbo.
The participation method employed by the project is Monithon’s civic monitoring, which is involved through an agreement with the Region, providing its tools. The Monithon method, validated and consolidated through collaboration with the OECD, is at the center of a series of meetings with local partners (civil society organizations, unions, etc.), who are supported in the process of creating a civic monitoring report on a specific project funded. The reports will be presented to representatives of local, regional, and European administrations as part of a series of participation labs, where a discussion will begin on the positive and negative aspects of the funded projects, with the aim of improving their effectiveness and usefulness for the final beneficiaries.
